Message from the Vice Chancellor

Hi, Student Affairs Team!

Between Move-in, Weeks of Welcome, FallFest planning (and cancellation due to weather), plus the great success of an in-person SmallFest, the work of so many of you to create student engagement opportunities has been very apparent and appreciated across campus. Still others of us are working overtime to care for our students' needs in ways big and small, during a fall semester that brings new challenges daily. All of your work and compassion makes a difference in our students lives – thank you! I hope you are taking good care of yourselves while supporting our students!

  • Carolina Together: Effective September 15, all unvaccinated faculty and staff will be required to participate in weekly asymptomatic testing as part of the Carolina Together Testing Program. If you have not filled out your certification or if you have not yet been vaccinated, you should do so prior to September 15 to avoid weekly asymptomatic testing.

  • The Well: Tonight is your last chance to take advantage of Twilight Thursdays and stroll through the display gardens and exhibit hall at the N.C. Botanical Garden until 8 p.m.

  • Campus Health: The best way to prevent the flu is by being vaccinated each year. Starting Sept. 1, 2021, there are several opportunities for UNC-Chapel Hill community members to obtain a flu vaccination on campus.
