A Message from the Vice Chancellor
|
|
Warm greetings, Student Affairs crew, on a cold and frosty week! I hope everyone stayed safe during our winter weather last weekend and that you are gearing up for what could be another round tomorrow and this weekend. When bad weather strikes, it can make our work to support students especially challenging—and I am extremely grateful for your dedication to ensure everything runs smoothly under these conditions.
This week we honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. While the winter weather has postponed some programs, there are still several campus events on the calendar this week (some hosted by our own folks), so I hope you’ll join us in these celebrations. Check out our Heel Life and Diversity and Inclusion websites for more information, particularly to watch for any late-breaking schedule changes due to weather.
Please take good care of yourselves, be well, and stay warm!
Amy

Please make time to review the plan and see how you and your department are involved!
Highlights from the NASPA Mental Health and Counseling Study

Color of Drinking Project
The Color of Drinking Project is being conducted jointly by Student Wellness, the Campus & Community Coalition, and the Gillings School of Global Public Health. The data collected from this survey as a tool for meaningful policy change and calls to action for additional resources to support BIPOC and LGBTQ+ students at UNC.
The survey will run January 24 - February 11. Please share the survey with your students, particularly BIPOC and LGBTQ+ students. Oversampling these groups will ensure that our data is centering underrepresented voices, which are often missed in our national survey data.
