ACC Cares Act Student Aid Open
Getting Through COVID-19 Together

ACC received CARES Act funding to support eligible students financially impacted by the Coronavirus (COVID-19) These funds are a part of the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund that are limited and not guaranteed. Applications are reviewed in the order they are received.

You may also access additional community resourcesACC scholarships and financial aid.

Eligibility & Requirements
ACC must adhere to federal guidelines set forth by the Department of Education (ED). Federal guidelines for ACC CARES Act Student Aid require that you must be eligible for Federal Financial Aid and meet the following criteria:
  • Be enrolled in an approved degree or credential,
  • Not owe any financial aid or have defaulted on any financial aid loan, or not have been involved in any fraudulent receipt, distribution, or overpayment of financial aid funds,
  • Be a U.S. citizen or national, a permanent resident, or an eligible noncitizen, and have a social security number,
  • Be registered for the selective service (if male),
  • Not have a federal or state conviction for drug possession or sale, with certain time limitations,
  • Be in good Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) standing.

Steps to Apply
Federal funds are limited and not guaranteed. Applications are reviewed in the order they are received. 
  1. Fill out an online application.
  2. Complete and submit a Free Application for Financial Student Aid (FAFSA). If you have already submitted a FAFSA for 2020-2021, step 2 is not required.
  3. You will be contacted by ACC via email. (Due to a high volume of applications, please allow for up to seven to ten business days.)

On campus computer access and study spaces available
Austin Community College's Return to Campus Plan is rooted in safety for all students, faculty, staff, and visitors. We also recognize our students’ need for access to technology. ACC will open three locations for students to have on-campus computer and individual-study area access. To ensure your continued health, safety, and well-being — these locations will be limited to 25% capacity. Students will be required to reserve a space by appointment.

How familiar does this scenario sound to you? One day while bored on the internet you — you take a personality quiz. Whether that be the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) assessment, the Sixteen Personality Factor Questionnaire...a personality test might have shaped you in one way or another.

Despite whatever preconceptions you may have about personality tests, there may be one that you might want to know more about, and that is the Enneagram of Types. Come learn more about this modern synthesis of a number of ancient wisdom traditions.

Mid-Semester Check-In

We’re about halfway through the Fall semester, how are things looking? If you’re concerned about your grade in a class, check in with your instructor and see what you can do to raise it. Do you need to see a tutor for some one-on-one support? Perhaps you need to see an academic coach to learn how to study more effectively?
