Dear Student Affairs Colleagues,

I am excited to welcome the new Director of Career Services, Beverly Bracker, to the Student Affairs Leadership Team. Beverly joined us formally in the role yesterday and will be supported by executive director for Student Resources, Dr. Jenna Crabb, in her transition. Please take a moment to welcome Beverly to the team and help show her the incredible culture of welcome and support, we provide in the Division of Student Affairs.

The DSA Innovating the Student Experience strategic plan names with intention the important role that workforce development and career pathways plays in the lives of our students and the success of our university. In fact, guiding pathways towards fulfilling lives—career satisfaction being a significant component—is

central to our work across Student Affairs. Whether working with an incoming First-Gen student or a graduate looking to shift their professional focus, UNM Career services is the hub for a network of support that spans each of our departments. Programs like Lobo GROW, which will now be formally housed in Career Services, go a step further by incorporating mentoring principles and the intentional development of transferable skills into the student employment culture. With our support, UNM graduates will continue to be in demand and highly aligned with the needs of New Mexico’s top employers and beyond.

With appreciation,

Eric
