Dear Student Affairs Colleagues, 

Each spring, we come together to celebrate the close of another successful year and for our graduates to honor the accomplishments, identities, and communities that have supported them along the way. Standing with families, friends, and colleagues as students receive their stoles is a meaningful reminder of the pride, perseverance, and purpose that define their time at UNM and it is always an honor to take part in each program as all are invited to do.

Stoling ceremonies give us a chance to honor the personal growth, cultural identities, and transformative experiences that shape our students’ paths. These moments help bring to life the collective effort, creativity, and commitment that make student success possible and seeing these stoles worn with pride at commencement ceremonies for the conferral of degrees is inspiring and impactful.

What truly distinguishes our work within Student Affairs is the unwavering dedication to supporting every student with compassion and respect undergirded by strong professional acumen and follow-through. We remain committed to fostering a deep sense of belonging and honoring the unique stories each student brings to our community. Spring stoling ceremonies reflect this commitment in a powerful way as we celebrate academic achievement grounded in communities of support. I look forward to sharing these special moments with you and our graduates in the coming weeks.

AISS is Hiring Residential Advisors

AISS is hiring for Residential Advisors to welcome & lead their next cohort of American Indian Summer Bridge (AISB). AISS Residential Advisors have the primary responsibility for providing tutoring support services, living on campus with AISB participants, and conducting small group discussions on a variety of topics relevant to college life.

Sabrina Single Parents Scholarship Applications Open

The Sabrina Single Parents Scholarship supports undergraduate and graduate single parents attending UNM each Spring semester. Applicants must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours, have a minimum 2.0 GPA, demonstrate financial need, and be the sole financial provider for their family. Required materials include an application form, a brief written statement, proof of financial need, and a current photo for use in a recognition event. Selected recipients receive a $500 award credited to their student account.

Office of the Executive Directors for Student Support and Student Resources Accepting Applications for Administrative Assistant Position

The Division of Student Affairs (DSA) at The University of New Mexico seeks a highly skilled and proactive Administrative Assistant to join the Office of the Executive Directors for Student Support and Student Resources. DSA is home to units and services dedicated to advancing the quality, cohesiveness, and cultural relevancy of the student experience at UNM and beyond. 

The Administrative Assistant will provide direct administrative and strategic assistance to the Executive Directors for Student Support and Student Resources and requires a proactive, highly organized individual to advance the division’s commitment to provide an innovative, equitable, and culturally responsible student experience grounded in a sense of place and tradition. This position is intended to build administrative capacity for the Executive Directors’ work in co-chairing the DSA Professional Development Committee and providing operational efficiencies in areas including, but not limited to: purchasing and inventory activity, human resources transactions, fiscal and budget operations, and other tasks contributing to the Student Support and Student Resource units in a shared services model.

RADcamp is a Summer Recreation Program offered by UNM Rec Services and Early Bird Registration is open NOW until March 31st! The mission of Recreational Activities Day Camp(RADcamp) is to cultivate the interpersonal and academic growth for campers through recreational activity.



Though RADcamp focuses on recreation, our programming involves aspects of STEM and the arts. RADcamp recognizes the diversity of the Albuquerque population and strives to ensure the camp is an inclusive and welcoming space for all to grow and learn. Sky Happiness Retreat for Students

This program is for students to practice some breathwork, meditation, and connection with peers. The program is nationally renowned and free for students. Please share with any student who may be interested in a life-changing way to regulate stress and learn a new skill.
