Encourage Your Students to Get the MenB Vaccine
|
|
Encourage your students to get vaccinated for Meningitis B. MenB vaccines only provide short-term protection. If they were vaccinated more than one year ago, they need another dose during this outbreak setting. Students can be vaccinated at many New Jersey pharmacies, their healthcare provider, through Rutgers Student Health, and on-campus vaccination clinics.

Anthony Otero has joined the Department of Student Centers and Activities as the assistant director for meetings and events, bringing over 17 years of student affairs experience to the division. Beginning his career at Syracuse University, he previously served as the associate director of events management at Barnard College.

Last month, Woody's supervisors Benjamin (pictured left) and Bryan (pictured right) came to the aid of a female patron who was choking, performing the Heimlich maneuver and helping to dislodge a food particle prior to the arrival of EMTs. Their quick, collaborative decision-making helped save a life.

As an assistant director for residence life, Jon oversees room assignments for one of the nation's biggest residential operations. Jon’s attitude in working with students, parents, and colleagues to do what it takes to resolve issues exemplifies our culture of care and support for students and each other.

Student Centers and Activities Honored at ACUI Annual Conference
Elizabeth Desimone, assistant director of the College Avenue Student Center, Alaina Giovanni, graduate intern, and Dayna Weintraub, director of research and assessment received the Gretchen Laatsch Grant and Scholarship for their research proposal on student employment and supporting students with autism.
Anthony Otero Receives ACUI Presidential Award for Distinguished Service
Anthony Otero, assistant director for meetings and events within student centers and activities also received Association of College Unions International's (ACUI)
Presidential Award for Distinguished Service
for his long-time service and achievements within the organization.
Felicia McGinty Honored at S.T.E.A.M. Women's Empowerment Conference
Rutgers–New Brunswick executive vice chancellor of administration and planning, Felicia McGinty, was presented with the
Sojourner Truth Phenomenal Woman Award
at this year's Dr. Jewel Plummer Cobb S.T.E.A.M. Women's Empowerment Conference.
