PCEF Prepares for School in the Fall with $250,000 in Classroom Grants
Teachers answered the call! In spite of an uncharted spring, we received over 40 Classroom Grant requests from all PCSD schools. Thanks to the generosity of PCEF donors, we were able to fund 33 grants and find outside funding for eight other grant proposals!

"I am delighted to have received funding for both LIA and Debate! Thank you so much for not only supporting me but for being a champion for the students in our district. I feel fortunate to work in a place where community allies support teachers, students and important programs that might not otherwise exist without the generosity of the PCEF." - Anna Martinez Williams
PCHS Junior Katie McGuire Creates Award for Student Volunteers
Katie McGuire
When Katie McGuire watched her older sister’s PCHS graduation ceremony a few years ago, she noticed the colorful cords and stoles many students wore over their robes. Later she learned they were for academics, sports, and extracurricular club achievements - but none were for volunteering.

"I heard about student service awards and I thought that would be a great idea here, since so many students volunteer and there are so many nonprofits who need help."

"At first," says Remy Eichner, PCHS Class of 2020, "we all thought it was going to be like when the swine flu was here - just two weeks off, then back to school, where it was going to be 'our time' as seniors. And then, it was all just...gone."
COVID-19 Donor Impact:
Express Grants and Bright Futures
Thanks to YOU, we responded to immediate student and teacher needs during COVID19 closures:

  • We have raised over $85,000, more than half of the expected college tuition shortfall for our Bright Futures students due to COVID-19 job losses.

  • Thanks to a gift from Park City Community Foundation and a partnership with Jewish Family Service, rent assistance is getting deployed to Park City School District’s most vulnerable families through the PCSD Outreach Coordinators.

PCEF is a Finalist for 2020
Women’s Giving Fund Grant
PCEF is honored to be a finalist for the  Park City Community Foundation 's 2020 Women's Giving Fund grant! The Women’s Giving Fund makes an annual high-impact grant to an organization that serves Summit County women and children.

Our grant request aims to ensure high-quality, affordable enrichment and education opportunities for all students after the school day ends. It will expand existing Afterschool Programs at Ecker Hill Middle School and Treasure Mountain Junior High by providing a coordinator for those schools.

The school closures enacted this spring to flatten the curve will require a broad range of solutions to help reduce the academic gaps that every student will face. The Afterschool Program will be one of those solutions.

You can learn more about our grant request and cast your vote HERE .

Congratulations to the other worthy finalists: Holy Cross Ministries and The Hope Alliance .
Taking the Census is Critical for Education, Healthcare and So Much More in Our Community.
Census efforts in Summit County affect the allocation of funding for our community’s public resources like schools, hospitals, transportation, how we plan for the future, and our voice in government. If you want to help students, take the census!
Excellent Educator Tips for
Summer Learning

It couldn’t come soon enough! Summer is here, and we all are looking forward to taking a break from at-home schooling. At the same time, many parents want to help prevent the ‘summer slide’. We know the academic gaps for every student will increase due to the Coronavirus school building closures.

We asked some of the top experts in PCSD – our 2020 Louis Family Excellent Educators – for tips on summer learning. Some are serious, some not so much, but all are useful .
