The Installation consists of red dresses suspended in a public space to mark the absence and evoke the presence of indigenous women and girls who have gone missing or been murdered.

Food for Thought with Jaime Black

Founder of The REDress Project in 2009, Black has been using their art practice as a way to gather community and create action and change around the epidemic of violence against Indigenous women and girls across Canada and the United States for over 14 years. Black’s interdisciplinary art practice includes immersive film and video, installation art, photography, and performance art practices to explore themes of memory, identity, place, and resistance.
