Every year, Midwest Mission works with the U.S. Southern Command on their humanitarian aid exercise, Resolute Sentinel. The United States works alongside the local government, working on military exercises, and assisting communities with medical, emergency, and educational resources.
This year, they requested Student Kits to outfit 68 schools in Caballococha, Peru. We sent 4,260 Student Kits.
In March, we drove the requested Kits to Scott Air Force Base outside of St. Louis, MO. The supplies were flown into Peru the first week of April, and were distributed to students in the weeks following.
We recently received these sweet pictures from the disbursement of Kits. You can see the joy on the students’ faces as they receive a bag full of supplies they can truly call their own.
Carla Alvarado with the U.S. Southern Command thanked Midwest Mission for the partnership and hard work. She said, “The distribution was accomplished by the Soldiers of Delta Company, 402nd Civil Affairs Battalion, during the execution of the exercise; these events supported by your generous donation, created an invaluable impact and left a lasting impression on both children and soldiers in Peru.”
Thank you for your donations of school supplies that made this shipment happen!
