Student Kits Distributed in Peru by the

U.S. Southern Command

Every year, Midwest Mission works with the U.S. Southern Command on their humanitarian aid exercise, Resolute Sentinel. The United States works alongside the local government, working on military exercises, and assisting communities with medical, emergency, and educational resources.

This year, they requested Student Kits to outfit 68 schools in Caballococha, Peru. We sent 4,260 Student Kits.

In March, we drove the requested Kits to Scott Air Force Base outside of St. Louis, MO. The supplies were flown into Peru the first week of April, and were distributed to students in the weeks following.

We recently received these sweet pictures from the disbursement of Kits. You can see the joy on the students’ faces as they receive a bag full of supplies they can truly call their own.

Carla Alvarado with the U.S. Southern Command thanked Midwest Mission for the partnership and hard work. She said, “The distribution was accomplished by the Soldiers of Delta Company, 402nd Civil Affairs Battalion, during the execution of the exercise; these events supported by your generous donation, created an invaluable impact and left a lasting impression on both children and soldiers in Peru.”

Thank you for your donations of school supplies that made this shipment happen!

Back to school season is coming up… keep an eye out for good deals on supplies that go into our Student Kit.

During this season, you can purchase school supplies cheaper than we can in bulk!

Cleaning Kits Delivered for Iowa Flood Relief

Last Friday, June 28, 720 Cleaning Kits were delivered to flood-stricken areas in Iowa.

Residents were able to come by the churches and pick up what they needed. The churches also had other needed supplies available such as water, food, clothes, and hygiene items.

Midwest Mission received the request from the Iowa Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church. We never send supplies before we know what the need is, because we never want to cause more chaos in the crisis.

It might have been a trial to get the supplies where they were needed, but it was worth it — 720 families will have resources to help them start cleaning up after the flood waters recede. Praise God!

Thank you for your support through prayers, supplies, and donations. Supplies wouldn't get to those who need it most if it weren't for YOU!

We are still replenishing supplies to be prepared for future shipments.

Prayers to Lift Up

This week, please continue to pray for those who are recovering from the devastating flooding. Pray that their needs will be met, and that they will feel the love of God and His people surrounding them through this time.

"Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me."

Psalm 23:4
