A note about the coming year
Good morning. I wanted to share a short update about the upcoming program year. As Fulton County Schools decided to move to virtual school, we immediately knew we needed to pivot as well. As a result, the remainder of our 2020 program year will be held virtually. All students will still be excused from their classes to attend per Fulton County and we will be offering the same level of program except virtually. I am in the process of securing the speakers, etc. and will communicate this more in the coming week.
With regard to our retreat, we will indeed still have our escape game retreat VIRTUALLY! I'm in talks with companies from around the U.S. to find the games I believe will be best suited for our students and should have that secured by next week. Please still plan on the August 15th date for this retreat - it will be approximately 75 minutes and we most likely will also have a Zoom meeting with each class to discuss the program year going forward either before this day or immediately following it.
I will be sending out dates that you can drop by and pick up your bags with all the supplies you will need for the fall. I will have multiple time/date combinations to make it convenient for all. We have secured the Thornhill clubhouse to have the pick-ups and we are asking our students to wear masks when they come to get their bag. Again, more information to follow.
Our main focus for the upcoming program year is to keep our students safe while offering a quality leadership program and we believe we will be able to do this effectively. There are many programs in the metro area who have thrown in the towel, but with the help of our LJC board we have chosen to pivot and be resilient in order to offer a quality program for our student leaders.
Please feel free to email me with any questions and look for more updates next week. Have a wonderful weekend.
