A wicked man puts on a bold face,
but the upright gives thought to his ways.
No wisdom, no understanding, no counsel
can avail against the LORD.
The horse is made ready for the day of battle,

Second: Are you being trained in Wisdom? This video would make an excellent evening family discussion guide. Wisdom, Bible Project Youtube
The Student Ministry team desires to pray for our students. Please contact James Ensley to add your prayer request for the student newsletter and Wednesday night prayer meeting.

  • Pray that God would work in the hearts of our young people to know the joy of salvation in Christ.
  • Pray that they would know the blessings of being a part of God's work in building his kingdom and growing in Christian fellowship.
  • Pray that they would flee the sorrows that come from living for self and a rejection of God's proper authorities in their lives.
  • Pray that all external changes would be produced by hearts that love God and the Church not mere niceness, but instead godliness.
  • Pray that they would grow in participating in the covenant body, serving in every area of church life.

G2R: Exodus-Ruth

Lesson 11 of Q2

God Provided A Kinsman-Redeemer

Scripture: Ruth

Bible Truth: Ruth, Naomi’s daughter-in-law, trusted and obeyed God. She married Boaz, her kinsman-redeemer. Their son, Obed, was the grandfather of King David and an ancestor of Jesus Christ.

Lesson Aim:
To discover that God used ordinary people to carry out his redemptive plan.
To understand the significance of the kinsman-redeemer.
To trust that God is in control and at work in the ups and downs of our lives.

Memory Work: But Ruth said, “Do not urge me to leave you or to return from following you. For where you go I will go, and where you lodge I will lodge. Your people shall be my people, and your God my God.” - Ruth 1:16

God's Promises: Exodus-Joshua

Quarter 2
Lessons 9 (Boys) & 13 (Girls)

Numbers 21:4-9
Joshua 24:1-7

Lesson 9: The Bronze Snake
·      The only cure for sin is the one that God provides through his Son.
·      Jesus was lifted up in his death on the cross, his resurrection, and his exaltation.
·      Saving faith in Christ is our saying yes to God’s covenant promise to forgive us.
·      Grace: favor we do not deserve
·      In God’s covenant of grace, those who look in faith to Jesus, who was lifted up on the cross to die for our sins, are saved.

Lesson 13: Israel’s Renewed Commitment to God
·      “Not one word has failed of all the good things that the LORD your God has promised.” Joshua 23:14
·      What false gods are you serving today?
·      What means of grace do you need to especially focus on today? (Hint: they are things like the Word, prayer, Lord’s Supper, baptism)
·      Are you a believer? The Holy Spirit is at work in you to grow in faith, patience, courage, wisdom, and more!
