MONTHLY UPDATE | December 2021
Student Ministry Family,

December is a full time of year, and we're looking forward to plenty of opportunities to be together! We've got lots of fellowship events coming this month - Las Posadas Fellowship Brook, Progressive Dinner, Living Nativity After Parties - and we hope you'll join us for all of them!

Also, don't forget next month we'll be headed to Huntsville for Winter Youth Summit - sign up if you haven't yet!

And, summer will be here before you know it, so be sure you've turned in your Dominican Republic application and marked your calendar with everything that's coming up! All the info you need is below, or hit us up if you have any questions.

As always, if there are ways I or our Student Ministry team can better come alongside your family as we all grow as disciples of Jesus, please let us know.

We're praying for you each and all as you finish finals and wrap up the semester. Christmas break is almost here! You got this! Good luck and godspeed!

In Christ,

Dominican Republic Mission Trip: FINAL CALL
Tentatively June 1-9, 2022

This year's Student Ministry International Mission Trip will be in early June to the Dominican Republic, where we will work alongside MBBC's own Anne Peyton Baker at the Casa Monte Plata Children's Home.

We'll be doing light construction and offering programming for the kids at the school and children's home, and we'll end our trip with some cultural experiences and time at the beautiful beaches.

The trip is open to those who have completed 9th grade by the time of the trip.

Final cost and exact dates are to be determined by number of participants and exact airfare, however you can know that MBBC members' trip cost is reduced by funding from the Missions Committee, and fundraising will offset all/much of the remaining cost. (Simply by proximity this trip will be less expensive than South Africa, for instance.)

Also, Kids Alive requires all trip participants to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to the trip.

Mandatory Mission Team Trainings will take place in the Spring.

We have extended the mission trip application deadline to the end of the year. Please submit your application ASAP.
Here is Anne Peyton's most recent video update to give you an idea of some of what you might see in the DR ...

Advent Devotional Guide

Our Advent Devotional Guide this year is walking through the book of Jeremiah. You can pick up a paper copy in the Narthex, download it, read it on our blog, or listen to it read each day via podcast (Website | Apple | Spotify).

However you choose to engage with our Devotional Guide, I know you'll find it helpful for your family as we journey together toward Christmas.
Your MBBC Student Ministry staff is always here as a resource to help you navigate whatever comes up along the journey of life and faith.
Our desire is to come alongside families as they raise their children to be all God is calling them to become: disciples of Jesus on mission to transform the world in Jesus' name.
