Dear Staten Island Academy Families,

We are aware that questions and online claims have been circulating regarding Lifetouch, the company that provides our school photography services. We take any concern related to student privacy and safety very seriously and we want to share what we know at this time.

Lifetouch has reached out directly to our school to address these claims and has stated that the information being shared online is false. According to LifeTouch, student images are used only for school and family purposes.

Pictures are not shared with third parties and are protected under applicable federal and state privacy laws, including the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). LifeTouch has also shared that they follow strict data‑privacy practices and have a long‑standing history of working with schools nationwide.

They have provided a public statement addressing these rumors, which families may review directly here.

Open communication and trust are essential to our community, and we appreciate community members bringing these concerns to me directly.

Thank you for your continued partnership and for helping us maintain a safe and supportive environment for all students and employees at Staten Island Academy.

Sincerely,

Dr. Corigliano

Head of School
