Springing into Assessment

Greetings, my Student Services friends!

Hopefully you have had a chance to reflect on the IAA feedback for your Student Services Outcomes documents shared on Tuesday, March 14th.

This semester IAA provided an opportunity for units to ask questions regarding their written feedback. We have been delighted by the unit engagement and rich conversations regarding strategies for enhancing the meaningfulness and manageability of assessment!

For Spring 2023 assessment documents, this will be your opportunity to close the loop, or assess the impact of your proposed changes implemented this semester. Be sure to update any sections of your assessment document that may have changed, include your Spring 2023 data for your Results, complete Reflections, complete Gi. Impact of Past Improvements, and identify new actions to be implemented in Fall 2023 for Gii. Use of Assessment Results for Future Improvement. Check out the bottom of this message for guiding questions and tips for these sections.

Because these sections can be the most challenging, IAA will also be holding

Ready, Set, Action: Identifying Next Steps for Assessment on April 27th from 10 am - 11 am and 11 am - 12 pm for strategies on closing the loop on assessment and identifying actions for future improvement based on an analysis of the results. Calendar invites will be shared with assessment partners. Please reach out if you would like to include others involved in assessment for this session.

IAA is also holding Student Services Charrettes in May to provide an opportunity for units to receive peer feedback and learn more about Student Services Outcomes assessment across the university. To help us prepare for these events, please use this Google form to indicate which charrette event listed below works best for you.

If you have any questions along the way, please reach out.

All the best,

Serena
