Student Wellness Week: April 28 - May 2

Dear CUNY SPH students,

In the midst of deadlines and daily responsibilities, it’s easy to put your own well-being on the back burner. But self-care isn’t a luxury—it’s a necessity. That’s why Counseling and Wellness Services invites you to take a step back, recharge, and focus on yourself during CUNY SPH Student Wellness Week, happening April 28 - May 2.

This year’s theme is self-care, because taking care of yourself is just as important as the work you do for others. Whether it’s through movement, mindfulness, or simply taking a break, self-care helps you maintain balance, reduce stress, and stay energized. This week is designed to provide you with opportunities to prioritize your well-being—from yoga and meditation, to pet therapy and time management strategies.

Each day offers a new way to relax, reset, and build healthy habits that can sustain you beyond graduate school. We encourage you to take part in as many activities as you can,, even if it’s just for a few minutes—because your health and well-being matter.

Check out the schedule below and make time for you this week. You deserve it!

Sincerely,
Counseling and Wellness Services

Learn to Meditate: Your Key to Self-Empowerment, Happiness, and Success!

Thursday May 1  |  6pm  |  Zoom RSVP

Did you know that meditation was originally developed as a transformative self-empowerment practice, to foster personal growth, mental clarity, concentration, and happiness?

Meditation is increasingly embraced by the scientific and medical communities for its wide-ranging health benefits, making it one of today’s top self-care strategies.

Lead by Sanmati Naik, a wellness program planner, meditation teacher, and lifelong student of ancient wellbeing practices, this session will explore its relevance to your personal and professional goals, and how it can shift your life’s trajectory.

The second part features a hands-on workshop with a step-by-step meditation routine, technique practice, and tips to help you start or deepen your practice. Kindly RSVP.
