Specialized team working to improve diabetes diagnosis & care

Diabetes, in particular type-2, is increasingly prevalent nationwide. In Rhode Island, 11.5% of adults have diabetes and 36.4% have pre-diabetes, according to the American Diabetes Association.

To combat this local health concern South County Hospital formed a "Diabetes Champion Team."

Athletes beware: Don't play through the pain

Contrary to its name, tennis elbow doesn't just affect tennis players. According to Charlotte Moriarty, MD, PhD, who specializes in sports medicine at OrthoRI - South County, it is one of many common overuse injuries people can easily avoid.
