Across the country, schools are facing unprecedented teacher shortages. But Ravenswood is beating the odds. Thanks to your generous support, the Teacher Talent Initiative is helping us recruit and retain excellent educators by raising teacher pay and strengthening teacher evaluations that foster growth and excellence.



As a result, student outcomes are improving. While many Title I schools have seen learning losses since the pandemic, Ravenswood achieved a 44% improvement in foundational literacy last year — powered by the Literacy Initiative you are helping to fund. Support for teachers through literacy coaches and professional development paired with support for students with reading specialists amounts to improved outcomes and lasting change.

A New Challenge — and a New Opportunity

Next year, Ravenswood will welcome 350 new students from the closing of The Primary School — a nearly 25% increase in enrollment. To prepare, we need to hire more teachers, aides, coaches, and specialists to maintain the high-quality education our students deserve.
