As part of Health Justice Week, medical students in the Health Justice Scholars longitudinal academic track investigated social, legal, racial and economic barriers to health in an interprofessional learning environment. The week ended with advocacy on the Hill.
Graduate students in the Masters of Health Systems Administration program journeyed to Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay to learn about the varying levels of national health care resources across public and private health care facilities as part of an experiential learning opportunity at the School of Health.
School of Nursing and School of Health students returned to Food & Friends, a Washington community-based organization, for their annual Day of Service. Volunteers worked in shifts to help pack medically tailored meals for Food & Friends' clients in the DC region living with HIV/AIDS, cancer, diabetes and other chronic illnesses.
For medical students at Georgetown, anatomy lab is a critical and transformative experience. At the Anatomical Donor Mass, the School of Medicine Class of 2025 honored the lives of those who made that experience possible.
Georgetown has appointed Deus Bazira, DrPH, MPH, MBA, a professor and global health scholar and leader, as the inaugural director of its new Global Health Institute, a university-wide platform dedicated to advancing cross-disciplinary research and education on global health.
When Anthony Fauci, MD, came to Georgetown in 2017, he predicted that the then-incoming Trump administration would face a surprise outbreak in the arena of infectious diseases. Six years later, in the wake of a pandemic that’s claimed nearly seven million lives worldwide, Fauci returned to Georgetown, talking about lessons learned from the pandemic and how those lessons can inform the next “inevitable challenge.”

Campus Ministry will hold services throughout Holy Week in Dahlgren Chapel. The university is closed on April 7 in observance of Good Friday. Information about services during Passover will be shared on the Georgetown Univeristy Jewish Life Facebook page.

Sidewalk Closure Starts April 6
Sidewalk Closures
As part of the ongoing construction of the Medical/Surgical Pavilion, work will begin on or about April 6 to rebuild the entire sidewalk and install a new entrance, curbing, gutters, streetlights, trees and new vehicular traffic signalization on Reservoir Road NW between 37th St NW and 39th St NW. This work is expected to continue through June. Pedestrians will be rerouted across the street from the construction activity. The current Metrobus stop is not affected by this construction and will continue operating normally.
Periodically, we are spotlighting one of Georgetown’s Shared Resources, a pool of state-of-the-art equipment, technical expertise and knowledge available to researchers. 

The Proteomics component of the Mass Spectrometry & Analytical Pharmacology Shared Resource (MSAPSR-Proteomics) provides Georgetown investigators with access to an integrated suite of comprehensive molecular profiling services for targeted and untargeted identification and quantification of proteins/peptides and their modifications.
