Weekly Newsletter - February 19, 2020
As part of a day-long visit at SJSU arranged by Mosaic Cross Cultural Center, Hillel SV was proud to host Yavilah McCoy, diversity consultant, activist, and teacher. She spoke to our students about intersectionality, and the impact of identity and culture on partnership and community building within healthcare, education and social justice.
Last Friday, our students enjoyed a peer-led Tu B'shevat seder and holiday-themed Shabbat dinner. Community leader Michal Strutin gave students examples from her own environmental practice embraced by Jewish values.

Ways to Support Our Hillel
Rideshare to Hillel Campaign

More and more college students want to come to Hillel from campuses other than SJSU. Many of these students do not have cars while away from home and need help with transportation to come to Hillel. Please help us make Hillel programs accessible to students from all of the campuses we serve by supporting our “Ride Share to Hillel” campaign.

donation of $25   provides one round trip for a student or a group of students to the Hillel house .

Sponsor a Shabbat Dinner

Shabbat is a highlight at Hillel each week. Students from our five campuses, recent alumni, and young adults from the community gather at Hillel to celebrate their Jewish connection and and enjoy a meal free of charge. We endeavor to keep all of Hillel’s programs free so as to alleviate any financial barriers to engaging with Jewish life and community.
