The Students are Thriving in School! Your Support is More Important than Ever!

Supporting Students is More than School Fees

Reaching Beyond Globally is currently financially sponsoring 23 students through 6 years of school, which, as Keith Rosenthal, director of advancement for the College of Marin stated, "(The cost of an education) extends far beyond tuition". We have learned this to be very true. Supporting these students requires funds for school supplies, transportation to and from school during breaks, health care, text books, exam fees, boarding supplies, uniforms, technical support, personal items, and more.

With the USAID cuts, financial aid has become more important than ever. The International Parliamentary Network for Education noted that "...girls and students from rural and poor communities are bearing the brunt of this disruption. The aid freeze affects students from Kindergarten through secondary school and results in the loss of access to education and schooling needs."

Through the generosity of Reaching Beyond Globally sponsors and donors, all 23 students are able to remain in school and achieve their full potential. THANK YOU!

Successful Nursing Students

Students working hard!

Reaching Beyond Globally's first 6 nursing students have completed and passed their first exams. Madrine told us "..they celebrated with a ceremony where they were capped and given their professional uniforms. They will now begin ward placement and begin practicing, where they will be putting some hands on patients."

CONGRATULATIONS TO

Shakool, Martin, Joab

Precious, Angella, Grace

Martin having fun!

In his spare time from nursing studies, Martin has joined the school band and is building musical as well as medical skills.

Angella and the other students find this quite fun. When this photo was sent to us, Martin's comment was, "Hope u have now recognized me".

Kudos to Madrine

Madrine continues to encourage and motivate all 23 Reaching Beyond Globally students. Her "on the ground" support and mentorship is instrumental in keeping this program going with such success. In addition to supporting the students, she is a single mom caring for sweet Brie, who sadly has been struggling with liver disease. She is thankfully improving.

Madrine is working full time as a mid-wife AND attending school to earn a midwifery diploma. This will put her in a stronger position for higher responsibilities and better employment. She let us know that she passed her exam with a GP of 4.20 and is among the best performers in her class.

We cannot thank her enough for the amazing work she is doing - always with a smile, compassion and encouragement.
