We have important information for our families

Our Dance Ambassadors are still spreading good cheer! They have been writing thank you notes to their postal workers and residents and staff of a local nursing home.

The extended closure is based on the County of Los Angeles' Stay Safe at Home order being extended until Friday, May 15th.

RDC is open and continuing with RDC's Online Academy providing virtual dance classes to our existing students DURING THEIR REGULAR STANDARD CLASS TIMES WITH THEIR REGULAR TEACHERS. These classes will be posted on the teacher's Band pages. All classes will stay on band for a full week so you can watch them at any time during that week.

Non Recital Classes and Dancers, When do your classes end?
For non recital classes and dancers not signed up for RDC's year-end performance, your last day of class will be Thursday, April 30th. You will be removed from that teacher's band on that day. Non-recital dancers or students in Non-Recital classes will not be billed for May 2020.

How Long Will the RDC Online Academy Continue? At this time we are planning to resume regular classes on Monday, May 18th. This date is subject to change as circumstances change. THE MAY 1ST NEWSLETTER WILL PROVIDE INFORMATION ABOUT OUR OPENING PROCESS AND NEW SAFETY MEASURES AT THE STUDIO.

Are there any restrictions on Band Postings? For the health and well being of our dancers and faculty, RDC will not post anything BEFORE 9am or AFTER 9pm Monday to Friday and BEFORE 9am or AFTER 5pm on Saturday. No posting on Sundays. We ask that you respect the same time frames.

How Do I Make Payments? Accounts on autodebit will be charged between the first and the 10th of the calendar month. If you are NOT on autodebit or you are having trouble with your credit card, you can pay online through OR mail a check to RDC - 2287 Honolulu Avenue, Montrose, CA 91020. What if I don't want to participate in RDC Online Academy? If you don't want to complete this session, you have the opportunity to cancel your dancer's class through the "Document Center" on RDC's Website. Cancellations must be received by 5pm on Thursday, April 30th - as required by our studio policies. If you cancel your class for May, you will be cancelled for the remainder of the season and your Band access will be deleted .
What is happening with Recital 2020? - HOT OFF THE PRESSES!

Fri. May 29 and Sat. May 30 – Costume Weekend Pick Up
- Fri May 29 – 2-8pm
- Sat. May 30- 9:30 – 5pm
RDC Main – Studio C – 2287 Honolulu Avenue, Back parking lot
1. Parents will be given an index card to write their child’s full name
2. Studio employees will retrieve all costumes for that child
3. Parent will sign index card that all costumes have been picked up
4. If you need someone to pick up another child’s costume, be prepared to show a text or email from child’s parent authorizing you to pick up and you will need to follow the same process.

June 15 to June 26 – RDC Purpose Recitals
RDC East – Studio E – 2233 Honolulu Avenue (next to Portabellos). Seating will be limited to 2 per student. No professional videographer. You may video from your seat (with a phone or ipad). NO TRIPODS OR PHOTOGRAPHY SET UP. No charge for recital tickets.

Recitals will be scheduled daily in late afternoon & evening, Group photos and solo pictures will be taken after each individual performance in Studios G and H at RDC East.

Monday June 1- June tuition is billed (50% of normal tuition)
Monday, June 1 - Dance Ambassador application materials due- RDC Main front desk
Sat. June 6 & Sunday June 7th- Dance Ambassador Interviews 4-7pm
Monday, June 8- Dance Ambassador List Posted
Sunday, June 14- JKDC auditions - 2 to 5pm
Sunday, June 14- Jason's Crew Auditions - ages 12 and up - 5 to 6pm

We have been reviewing all recital classes and developing a plan that will allow our students to perform their recital pieces with a small audience. We have scheduled two weeks of 30 minute recitals to help prevent large gatherings. Each day will have between 5 and 7 shows in Studio E at RDC East. Audience members will be limited to 2 per dancer and will be asked to leave the studio at the end of each show. We will be asking for limited contact with our staff for the protection of our entire community.

In each teacher's band, under notices, there is a organized spreadsheet of the time and date of your dancer's performance. Please put these dates/times in your calendar so you don't miss it.
