Online classes started Monday, March 30th VIA BAND!
Have you downloaded your teacher's band yet?

As of March 30, 2020 - RDC will re-open and roll out RDC Online Academy providing virtual dance classes to our existing students DURING THEIR REGULAR STANDARD CLASS TIMES WITH THEIR REGULAR TEACHERS. These classes will be posted on the teacher's Band pages. All classes will stay on band for a full week so you can watch them at any time during that week.

How Do I Access My Student's Regular Class? - Last Friday, you were sent an invitation to participate in your teacher's private BAND page (see below for more information about BAND). That link will allow you to view your dancer's recital dance, download the recital music and NOW access your dancer's class that will be posted at the same time as your dancer's regular class.

What if I can't do the class at the regular time? All dance classes will remain on the teacher's Band page for ONE week from the original class date. EX: All March 23rd classes will remain on the teacher's Band page until Monday, April 6. You can access any and all classes that are being taught by your dancer's teachers.

How Long Will the RDC Online Academy Continue? At this time we are planning to resume regular classes on Tuesday, May 5th. This date is subject to change as circumstances change. Non-recital classes will end the week of April 27th. Non-recital dancers or students in Non-Recital classes will not be billed for May 2020.

How Long is Each Academy Class ? Academy classes will vary in length from 30 minutes to 105 minutes. At the end of each class, dancers will be assigned "home work" to work on particular skills and/or practice recital routines.

Is there Opportunity for Individual Feedback for the Dancers? Yes! Dancers can send private messages and videos to the teachers through Band's Private Chatroom feature. Teachers will respond to student questions about choreography and technique and provide constructive corrections on submitted videos of recital choreography performance. These message and corrections will be solely between the teachers and the dancers/parents - they will not be posted on the larger Band pages.

Are there any restrictions on Band Postings? For the health and well being of our dancers and faculty, RDC will not post anything BEFORE 9am or AFTER 9pm Monday to Friday and BEFORE 9am or AFTER 5pm on Saturday. No posting on Sundays. We ask that you respect the same time frames.

What is the Cost to Continue with These Classes ? Even though you will have access to ALL of the classes taught by your child's teacher, your account will be billed the regular monthly tuition for the number of classes per week your child is enrolled in. Billing dates for the remainder of the 2019/2020 season are March 30, 2020 and May 1, 2020.

How Do I Make Payments? Accounts on autodebit will be charged on April 1 to 3 and on May 1 to 5, 2020. If you are NOT on autodebit or you have having trouble with your credit card, you can pay online through OR mail a check to RDC - 2287 Honolulu Avenue, Montrose, CA 91020. What if I don't want to participate in RDC Online Academy? If you don't want to participate in RDC's virtual classes, you have the opportunity to cancel your dancer's class through the "Document Center" on RDC's Website. Cancellations must be received by 5pm on Wednesday April 1st. If you cancel your class for April, you will be cancelled for the remainder of the season and your Band access with be deleted .
Costume Company Return Policies as of 3/31/20
Costume Orders and Returns/Exchanges
We know that COVID-19 is affecting your studio’s normal schedule and business, and we are sorry if you’ve been impacted.
We cannot authorize a return for a refund or merchandise credit for any items which have already shipped.

We understand your show dates may have been pushed back to summer 2020 with the world crisis we are all experiencing. Weissman is here for you. Please call us about holding your costumes and accommodations for later recital dates.
You have up to 30 days from the ship date to return items for an account credit. 

Can I return costumes?
We are not currently accepting returns. A Wish Come True costumes are made-to-order, which means that each costume was cut and sewn in our factory specifically for your students.

What is happening with Recital 2020? - HOT OFF THE PRESSES!

Fri. May 8 and Sat. May 9 – Costume Weekend Pick Up
- Fri May 8 – 2-8pm
- Sat. May 9- 9:30 – 5pm
RDC Main – Studio C – 2287 Honolulu Avenue, Back parking lot
1. Parents will be given an index card to write their child’s full name
2. Studio employees will retrieve all costumes for that child
3. Parent will sign index card that all costumes have been picked up
4. If you need someone to pick up another child’s costume, be prepared to show text or email from child’s parent authorizing you to pick up and you will need to follow same process.

May 15 to May 21 – Picture week
During child’s regular class day and time.
All photos will be taken in Studio B – 2287 Honolulu Avenue

June 1 to June 12 – RDC Purpose Recitals
RDC East – Studio E – 2233 Honolulu Avenue (next to Portabellos). Seating will be limited to 2 per student. No professional videographer. You may video from your seat (with a phone or ipad). NO TRIPODS OR PHOTOGRAPHY SET UP. No charge for recital tickets.

Recitals will be scheduled daily in late afternoon & early evening,


What we DO KNOW -
  1. You will receive an account credit for your $55 or $70 Recital fee.
  2. Consider using your account credits for your April and May tuition to allow us to continue to employ our teachers who have been dedicated to our students all season.
  3. Recital dancers will perform in Costume. We have contacted all of our costume suppliers and NONE of them are allowing returns.
We are launching this great app BAND for our teachers and dancers to use to communicate about recital choreography and music. This is a private group for just your teacher's classes - it is not open to the public. Only our studio families will have access to these links. You should have received an email with an invitation to join the band for your specific teachers. It can be an app on your phone, ipad, or computer. Check your spam if you didn't receive it.

Once you have joined the band, you will receive notification when new information has been posted. Please check back on your teacher's band regularly for updates. If you did not receive your BAND invitation, please check your spam folder and if its not there, email us at

What Can You Do At Home?
  • Practice social distancing when outside your home and Good Hygiene CDC Guideline

  • Take your regular dance class through RDC Online Academy
  • Stay active - dance at home, in the backyard, with your pets- have a family dance party
  • Stretch and condition every day - stretch, planks and crunches are a great way to work on flexibility and strength daily
  • Practice your recital routine - some of you may have partial videos already - you can start now.
  • Watch for our director takeovers of our Instagram account and be ready to respond to challenges!
Closing Note from the Owners

We so appreciate the 50 plus families who asked not to be credited for the March closure. That act of generosity has really helped us to continue to pay our teachers who are working so hard to provide online classes for our dance community.

We also want to thank "Richard" who mailed us an anonymous check (blacking out his last name). What an amazing act of kindness that really lifted our spirits and brought sunshine to our day.

If you need a lift, please drive by our main studio at 2287 Honolulu Avenue (next to Tom's Toys), our dancers have been dropping off encouragement posters for our community and we put them in our front window.

As a small, family-owned business, we are eternally grateful for our dance families and the love and support we feel from you. Meeting all of our financial obligations to our landlords, utilities, taxes and insurance, not to mention payroll is very tough when our enrollment suffers a significant blow. Most of our faculty and staff are not eligible for unemployment at any other jobs besides RDC because all performers are contract labor and don't have that safety net. Your continued support of RDC helps us to provide a livelihood for our amazing staff and the ability to survive to have our 15th season for dancers in the Foothill Community.
