Dear Students and Families,
The Center for Global Programs and Services (CGPS) is closely monitoring the escalating conflict in Ukraine, with particular attention to any impact it may have on students who are currently abroad. With our 100-year history of administering study abroad, the University of Delaware and our students have experienced crises and unrest across the globe while abroad and we have emergency protocol and support in place. UD is not currently operating any programs in Ukraine, Russia, or any adjacent countries, nor do our programs host any excursions into those countries.
We remain in close contact with our partners abroad, as well as the U.S. Department of State (DOS) and Crisis 24, our travel risk and security partner. All students are registered with the U.S. Department of State and Crisis24 and would be included in any evacuations or relocations initiated by DOS if necessary. If you haven’t done so already, we encourage you to sign up for alerts from the DOS and Crisis 24 so that you receive the same information as our team here at CGPS - and can reach out for support 24/7.
If the situation in Ukraine changes dramatically you will hear from CGPS and our partners abroad immediately. We encourage students and families to continue communicating with one another. As always, if you have any questions or concerns please contact our office at 302-831-2852 or go-global@udel.edu.
Sincerely,
Matt Drexler, Interim Associate Director
