Redwood City Public Library eNews

December 18, 2023

However you celebrate the holidays, we wish you a very happy and healthy season. Our three libraries will be open surrounding the holidays, but this eNewsletter will be the last of the year. You can find our closure dates on the Locations and Hours page.

Don't forget to join us for Makerspace programs over the winter break, including Art Salon, Teen Makers: Holiday Card Making on December 23, and Winter MakerClub for all three weeks, starting this Wednesday.

TEEN STUDY ROOM

Teens! We are happy to announce the opening of the Teen Center Study Room, just in time for finals week. If you’re in search of a quiet place to prepare for final exams, head to our Study Room, equipped with school supplies, computers, printers, and of course, desks and comfy chairs! You can also grab a free snack to keep you fueled through your study session. Need a laptop? Borrow one from Teen Center staff. For grades 6-12. LIBRARY ART JURY SHOW

Local artists are invited to submit up to three representative works to the Library Art Selection Committee Jury Show taking place on Wednesday, January 24 at 7pm at the Downtown Library.

Submissions will be considered for exhibit at the Downtown Library and Redwood Shores Branch Library from March 2024 through December 2025

NEWS FROM THE FOUNDATION

The Redwood City Library Foundation would like to remind you that time is running out for making your end-of-year donations for 2023! Donate here

We also want to send thanks to all of our donors, sponsors, volunteers, and those who have attended our events this year. Many important library initiatives (including the Makerspace and Bridging the Digital Divide) would not be possible without your help. Thank you!

The Library Foundation Board wishes everyone a joyful holiday season and a Happy New Year!

p.s. Did you know that when you are 70.5 years or older, an IRA Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) is tax-free when you transfer funds directly from your IRA to a qualified non-profit such as the Library Foundation? A great way to minimize taxes on your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD).
