The United States Marine Corps is easily one of the most recognizable and honored branches of the U.S. military. With a rich and storied history of service dating back to the Revolutionary War (1775), the USMC has played an integral role in elevating the United States of America to its current position as a world power.
Their innumerable acts of valor have led to a great many victories for the American people -- and this year we are celebrating their 250th Anniversary!
In honor of the 25 straight decades of 'Devil Dog' military excellence the U.S. Mint is producing three special coins -- a Half Dollar, a Silver Dollar, and a $5 Gold Coin -- all struck in beautiful Proof condition.
But that is not all --- We have had these coins sent over to NGC and are proud to announce that we have several of each of these coins in certified PERFECT PR70 condition!

A Stunning Half Dollar...
The special Half Dollar is going to be struck at the San Francisco Mint and features an obverse design depicting one of our modern-day Devil Dogs in the foreground and a Continental Marine from their creation in the background. The inscriptions on the obverse include: “250 YEARS OF HONOR, COURAGE, AND COMMITMENT,” “1775 – 2025,” “USMC,” “LIBERTY,” and “IN GOD WE TRUST.”
The reverse design features the official emblem of the Marine Corps. -- the Eagle, Globe, and Anchor. Alongside their emblem are inscriptions are “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “E PLURIBUS UNUM,” “THE FEW, THE PROUD,” and “HALF DOLLAR.”

The special Proof Silver Dollar is going to be struck at the Philadelphia Mint and features an iconic design we already know and love -- because it is a recreation of the iconic 2005 Marine Corps. Silver Dollar!
Just like the original, alongside the obverse design, you can find the inscription: “LIBERTY,” “IN GOD WE TRUST,” “1775,” “MARINES,” and “2025.”
The reverse design is aslo from the 2005 coin and features the Eagle, Globe, and Anchor, the official emblem of the Marine Corps. The inscriptions are “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “E PLURIBUS UNUM,” “THE FEW, THE PROUD,” and “ONE DOLLAR.”

The $5 Gold coin was struck at the West Point Mint and is the first-ever $5 gold coin to honor the Marine Corps!
The obverse of this special gold coin design depicts the iconic Marine Corps color guard with the inscriptions “LIBERTY,” “IN GOD WE TRUST,” “1775,” and “2025” surrounding it.
The reverse design of the $5 gold coin, like the half dollar and silver dollar, features the Eagle, Globe, and Anchor, the official emblem of the Marine Corps. The inscriptions included are “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “E PLURIBUS UNUM,” “THE FEW, THE PROUD,” and “FIVE DOLLARS.”

In 2005, for the 230th Anniversary of the United States Marine Corps, the U.S. Mint issued their very first coin to commemorate one of the branches of the armed services.
Two .900 fine silver dollars were issued… an uncirculated and a proof edition, both made at the Philadelphia Mint. The U.S. Mint issued 600,000 coins between the two types (548,810 proof and just 49,671 uncirculated)... within a couple of weeks they were sold out.
The obverse design of this coin depicts the historic flag raising on Iwo Jima, while the reverse design proudly displays the Marine Corps emblem alongside their motto ‘Semper Fidelis’.
