Lowell Street Developers Hold Community Meeting

The Town of Lexington has completed the sale of Parcel 68-44, at the corner of Lowell Street and North Street, to Causeway Development LLC. In accordance with the sale agreement, Causeway will develop the land into 100% affordable housing.

The sale and subsequent development of this land are momentous steps forward for the Town and its housing partners, especially the Affordable Housing Trust, which has worked diligently over the last two years to make this project a reality.

From the beginning, the Town of Lexington made every effort to involve the community in this process. Causeway will continue that effort by hosting a hybrid community meeting on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. in the Community Room of the Lexington Police Department.

Human Services Partners with Local 8th Grader for Clothing Donation Drive

Lexington 8th-grader, Ferial Farag, is leading an effort to collect clothing donations for local families in need.

Ferial worked with the Lexington Human Services Department to place a donation box in the main lobby of the Lexington Community Center. With this box, she hopes to collect at least 250 pieces of winter clothing.

The box will remain in the Community Center lobby until March 22. Then, Ferial will donate all of the items collected to the Salvation Army.

Ferial attends school online through TEC Connections Academy, but that hasn't stopped her from serving her community. She has organized multiple bake sales, the proceeds of which have gone to support families impacted by recent natural disasters and healthcare research efforts through the World Health Organization.

Residents can still use gas-powered leaf blowers (abiding by seasonal restrictions) until March 2026, when the ban extends to the entire town.
