2027 CMEA Conference

Greetings Everyone!

The CMEA Board is pleased to announce the Call for Proposals and Honor Ensemble Performances for our annual conference, to be held January 27-30, 2027, at the Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs. 

As a CMEA community, our annual conference provides us an opportunity to celebrate and reflect on our work, celebrate one another, and celebrate the impact of music in our lives and the lives of our students. I invite you to propose a session to share your ideas and innovations or a performance submission to share the musical accomplishments of your students.

CMEA is now accepting applications for Honor Performing Groups at the 2027 Conference. Elementary Choirs, Elementary Ensembles, all levels of Instrumental and Vocal Performing Groups, Non-traditional Ensembles, Modern Bands, Mariachi, and Community Groups are all invited to apply to perform.

Submission deadline is May 26, 2026

In preparation for completing this form, please have the following files ready to upload:

• a quality recording of the ensemble's performance (mp3 is preferred)
• a PDF/scanned copy of each score performed on each recording, with all and any identifying school/director information removed. (PDF/scans of scores will be held securely and used only in the evaluation/listening process. Scores submitted will be deleted upon completion of performance group selections.)
• a PDF/scan of the Principal Signature Page for K-12 Music Groups that can be downloaded from the link within the Google form.
• A high-resolution square headshot of the director and any co-directors in PNG or JPEG format, ready to upload. Label headshots as FirstName_LastName.jpg
• A 150 – 200-word bio of the director and any co-directors in PDF format

• Closes: Tuesday, May 26, 2026
• Groups Selected: June 5, 2026
• Notifications sent by June 22, 2026

Conference Presentation Proposals

• Opens: Friday, May 1, 2026
• Closes: Monday, June 1, 2026
• State Assembly Review: June 6, 2026
• Finalized: June 19, 2026
• Notifications sent by July 1, 2026
• Preliminary schedule announced: by September 303, 2026
