Dear Global Christian Warriors,
One of the best known scriptures is James 4:7: " Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you."
You and I were born into a cosmic spiritual battle, and it is now clearly playing out in our lives. Of course, we want to have the devil flee. However, to be on the winning side with Yeshua/ Jesus, we need to submit to God first before resisting the devil who wishes to kill us.
Submitting to God includes more than rote "obedience." Submission to God is a free will, mature decision to die to self, really repenting from our old self-focus, truly being converted, joyfully exercising our free will and our faith to place us fully in His Kingdom. God is then FIRST, for now and for eternity.
John 6: 29 makes this so clear: "Jesus answered and said to them, ' This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent.'"
And the Lord said in John 8: 34-36:" Jesus answered them, ' Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave to sin. And a slave does not abide in the house forever, but a son abides forever. Therefore, if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.'"
And then our Lord Jesus said: " These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full." John 15: 11.
A major sin pattern today in the body of Christ, including with us pastors, priests and worship leaders, is our failure to repent and be converted to join His Kingdom. Jesus' first words as a preacher, Matthew 4:17, were " Repent, the kingdom of heaven is at hand."
Way too many"Christians" are sitting in pews and seats in churches today, who have not really repented. They have not died to self. They are not converts. They are not yet in Jesus' Kingdom.
Thus they are apathetic, lukewarm, mixing the ways of the world and the flesh in their lives instead of coming into His Kingdom through repentance.
Join me in taking a few minutes now with the Risen Christ, Who knocks on the door of our hearts and minds, wanting us to let Him in, so that He can "dine" with us. He wishes us to be overcomers of all sin strongholds so that we can sit with Him on His throne, as He overcame and sat on His Abba Father's throne. (Revelation 3:20-21).
With respect to this issue of apathy, lukewarmness, worldliness and flesh, ask the Lord if you have such a sin stronghold. You can ask Him where it began; whether it's a generational curse; how it shows up in your character today. If you see that it as a sin pattern, you have the freedom to confess that sin pattern to Him. There's no guilt; He will forgive you. And then you have the opportunity to take the next step: sincerely to repent from that sin pattern, that filter to His Truth. Replace it with His Word: even speak it out loud! You and I are to seek His Kingdom! We are to abide fully in His Love, submitting fully to Him!
If you've repented, now experience the FREEDOM; experience the JOY as you are filled with more Holy Spirit! And then "bear fruit worthy of repentance." By your words, by your conduct, put this new Truth into practice, really working to keep the Unity of the Holy Spirit to those around you.
It will be a great witness that you are growing in Christ, and a great witness of His Gift of Repentance!!! HALLELULIAH !!!
