Increasingly, Indigenous nations are reclaiming their leadership in the North American landscape, including their role to be equity owners in clean energy projects. Successful major projects include Indigenous environmental, social, and governance (ESG) values at all stages from initiation, to construction, operation, decommissioning and remediation.
Failure to implement Indigenous values from the initial stages of projects results in regulatory uncertainty, higher capital costs, public opposition, and, in some cases, project delays or outright cancellation.
This two-day, in-person conference will be unlike any other conference you’ve attended. It will showcase commercial Indigenous equity deals from around the world. We will hear from the dealmakers behind these transactions on how they came together so that we can all learn best practices.
