ACEC speaks out on behalf of industry

Over the past weeks, ACEC has continued to pursue its advocacy agenda to ensure the voice of consulting engineering is heard by federal decision makers. We have met with various Members of Parliament from key House of Commons Standing Committees to further advance the key messages of our pre-budget submission to the Finance Committee from this past October.

To ensure ACEC's priorities and recommendations are front and centre with the senior policy advisers assisting the Minister of Finance to develop and finalize the government's budget for 2023, our team has also submitted a departmental pre-budget submission to Minister Freeland a few weeks ago. Read the submission here

ACEC anticipates the Minister will table the budget to the House of Commons in late March/early April. Stay tuned for a special budget day email with details on the government's fiscal plans for the coming year and how Budget 2023 will impact our sector.

Join ACEC-Canada at FNMPC's Values Driven Economy Conference

Increasingly, Indigenous nations are reclaiming their leadership in the North American landscape, including their role to be equity owners in clean energy projects. Successful major projects include Indigenous environmental, social, and governance (ESG) values at all stages from initiation, to construction, operation, decommissioning and remediation.

Failure to implement Indigenous values from the initial stages of projects results in regulatory uncertainty, higher capital costs, public opposition, and, in some cases, project delays or outright cancellation.

This two-day, in-person conference will be unlike any other conference you’ve attended. It will showcase commercial Indigenous equity deals from around the world. We will hear from the dealmakers behind these transactions on how they came together so that we can all learn best practices.

Taking place April 24th-25th, 2023 at the Westin Bayshore in Vancouver, BC and on the unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations don’t miss out on the inspiring panels and networking opportunities at this year’s conference.
