1115 SUD Waiver Midpoint Assessment 

The SUD team at HCPF recently completed Midpoint Assessments during which we received significant provider and member feedback that will be included in a report to CMS. Once completed, the report will be public. Thank you to all who provided input, data, and information during this process! DEA Update 

As of June 27, 2023, the DEA requires 8 hours of training on the treatment and management of patients with opioid or other substance use disorders for all initial registrations and renewals of DEA-licensed practitioners. More details and guidance on this requirement can be found on the ASAM website. 

Debunking Myths & Misinformation About Health First Colorado

Did you know… IOP services are billed daily? An ASAM 2.1 level of care includes weekly programing for a minimum of 9 hours per week for adults and 6 hours per week for youth. Level 2.1 services can be conducted in regularly scheduled sessions that follow a planned format of treatment services of 9 to 19 contact hours per week for adults and 6 to 19 contact hours per week for youth under the age of eighteen to meet criteria for IOP level of care.  



A format of 3 hours each on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, with an individual session each week is most common, but is not required. IOP services are billed daily, based on a three hour service block. Total claims for a week must fit within program standards.

Please consider attending the BHA Peer Workforce Quarterly Collaborative & Networking Forum 

Peer Support Services continue to expand in the state of Colorado. This growing resource will be an increasingly important tool in the SUD space focusing on whole-person care and support.  

The forum is next scheduled for a 90 minutes session on July 27 at 12 p.m.
