Dear Marine families,

The mission of MarineParents.com, Inc., is to provide support, information, and services to Marines and their family members, and create opportunities for the public to support our troops and veterans through the organization's outreach programs.

On Monday, May 7th, we conducted an extreme restoration project for Larry Diggs, a 94 year old World War II Marine combat veteran. With the help of over 120 volunteers, and your generous donations, this project was a huge success. Learn more in our first article.

Thank you for supporting our troops!

God bless and Semper Fi!
Thank You for Supporting 94-year old WWII Marine Combat Veteran

On May 7, 2018, MarineParents.com conducted an extreme restoration project for 94-year old World War II Marine combat veteran, Larry Diggs and his wife.

The MarineParents staff was on site all day and Veterans United provided 120 volunteers that filtered through in four shifts throughout the day, with Lanier Landscaping leading the way. Here is some of the work that was completed:

  • retaining wall torn down and rebuilt, the ground around the foundation of the Diggs' home is better supported now
  • dead and overgrown plants ripped out or trimmed
  • weeds pulled
  • brush cleared out near pond
  • planted over 143 low maintenance plants
  • beds dug out with a natural edge
  • weed matting/barrier laid down around all plants
  • beds covered in rock rather than mulch for easy maintenance

It was a hot and humid day at 82 degrees but everyone worked hard to push through and finish the job. We can't thank everyone enough for dedicating their time and effort toward helping Mr. and Mrs. Diggs. Our hope is that this project will allow them to be able to enjoy the beauty of their land rather than worry about further maintenance themselves.

It is truly amazing to see so many people come together to serve those who have sacrificed so much for us. God Bless and Semper Family!
