SBDC Success Story:

Route 89A LLC: Cottonwood, Arizona

In the heart of Cottonwood, Arizona, a dynamic pair of entrepreneurs is bringing creativity to life—one stitch, one print, and one design at a time. Golab and Hojat Nabipour, already well-known in the Verde Valley for their successful tailoring business in Sedona, have embarked on a new journey.

They’ve expanded their creative footprint with Route 89A LLC, a custom printing and embroidery service that blends craftsmanship with community spirit.

Invention Protection 101:

Should You Patent Your Idea?

Have a great idea and wondering how to protect it?

Join registered U.S. Patent Agent Guy Letourneau for an eye-opening session on the U.S. patent process — what it can do for you, what it can’t, and how to avoid common pitfalls along the way.

In this practical and engaging workshop, you'll learn:

🔹 What a patent is — and what it actually protects

🔹 What patents don’t do (and when they’re not the right tool)

🔹 Other forms of intellectual property protection: trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets

🔹 Common patent myths and scams to steer clear of

🔹 How U.S. patent applications are structured and processed by the USPTO

🔹 Tips for inventors who want to write and file their own applications

Whether you’re an inventor, entrepreneur, or just curious about IP, this session will equip you with the knowledge to make informed decisions — and maybe even file a patent yourself.
