Dear Pasadena Property Owners:
Thanks for your interest in our work to protect your property in Pasadena. Over the course of the last week, we’ve represented your interests at the Rental Board and engaged in public debate by publishing an article in Pasadena Now. It's an excellent article that clearly delineates the incompetence and activism of the PRHB.
We helped achieve two big successes:
- The Rental Board is backing down on its attempt to extend rent control to all Section 8 properties. The updated rules are complex, and we’ll send out an explainer soon.
- We also got the Board to drop its attempt to give the City Council a veto over voter-initiated removals of Board members for incompetence, bias, or any other reason.
We will be meeting with City officials in June to push for fair representation on the Rental Board, instead of just one landlord facing ten tenants and activists. We will also continue to hold the Board to account for its many failures.
