University of Scouting's Successful Return

On Saturday, November 2nd, 165 youth and adults gathered at St. Paul High School in Santa Fe Springs for the Greater LA Scouting Council's University of Scouting, marking its return after a 6-year hiatus. Participants networked in the Midway, visited 15 vendors, and connected with our council field staff, who shared updates on FOS, Popcorn, and Camp Cards. With 65 classes to choose from across five colleges, including Cub Scouts, Scouts, Venturing, and Youth programs it was a day full of learning and fun.

A big thank you to Mary Gaither, Sally Grimaldi, and Virginia Wetzel, along with the 45 staff members who made this event possible. We can’t wait to see you next year!

The Dodgers Are World Series Champions!

The Dodgers have done it! They’ve won the World Series Title! Let’s celebrate this historic victory and look ahead to an exciting event with the Greater LA Scouting community.

Join us on December 11th for the Good Character Gala, where we’ll honor the incredible Dave Roberts, Manager of the World Series Champion Dodgers! Hosted by the fabulous Anthony Anderson at the stunning Millennium Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles, this is an event you won’t want to miss.

Fire Explorer Post 112 Shines

Fire Explorer Post 112, sponsored by Monrovia Fire & Rescue, participated in the 40th Annual Street Rods Forever Car Show. The Post had the honor of serving as the event's Honor Guard, and Explorer Allison P. delivered a beautiful rendition of the National Anthem.

As the holiday season approaches, please note the following special hours for the Arcadia Scout Shop:

- Early Closing: Saturday, December 7 at 1 pm

- Closed: December 22 - 25, 2024

The Los Angeles Scout Shop will be OPEN on Saturday, November 16, 2024, from 8 am -1 pm.
