Successful Secret Trip

Sara here—I just returned from traveling by myself to a SECRET gathering of Asian church leaders that I had never met before!

At the gathering, I shared from the stage that I hope they remember me as THE RESOURCE LADY because I can provide them with Bible teaching resources in Mandarin. I also shared how the youth group curriculum and women’s courses and Bible Schools we start have transformed all the churches that we work with in Asia, and I told them to come find me to get these resources from me for their churches.

Since it was a very large gathering of leaders, I announced that I would be wearing bright yellow the whole week to help everyone find me easily in the crowd. I think God is the one who gave me the idea to wear yellow, because it worked SO WELL! I constantly had leaders coming up to me saying “Lady in yellow! It is so easy to find you!”

By the end of the week, I had trained and equipped leaders to start 15 youth groups and 15 women’s discipleship programs! This was such a successful week that we are already working on plans to do this weeklong gathering again next year!

Each leader that I talked to was astounded and thrilled that I knew about a youth group curriculum and women’s discipleship course in Mandarin. Over and over, leaders told me “We’ve never seen anything like this before. This is so needed in Asia!” In the coming months these leaders will use the youth group curriculum videos to start many youth groups. They will use the women’s discipleship videos to start numerous women’s discipleship programs. I am so excited to see God at work in it all!

Thank you to all of you that have prayed for us or donated for our missions work. The donations and prayers make it possible for Tim and me to be full time missionaries and make trips like I just did. It means so much to have friends and family stand with us as we train and equip pastors and leaders!

FAMILY UPDATE

Our church had recently two events our kids loved. A daddy/daughter dance and a mother/son night. Joy said it was “the best night ever.” Luke also really enjoyed getting to play foosball and air hockey with Sara.

Sara was gone for a week on her secret trip. It was hard for the kids and Tim, but they made it through. A lot of sandwiches and Vienna sausages were eaten in Sara’s absence. Haha
