Westport trains to fight opioid epidemic

WESTPORT - A local nonprofit partnered with town officials on International Overdose Awareness Day Wednesday as part of the town's effort to fight the dangers of opioids. Positive Directions, a state-licensed outpatient treatment center, held a naloxone training event to educate residents about the risks of opioids and counterfeit drugs, and to inform them about the benefits of naloxone, commonly known by the brand name Narcan.
