Light up the night Sullivan Christmas Light Contest!

 “Light Up the Night Sullivan Christmas Light Contest”.

There will be more than the business window Display. This year we will have categories and include residential homes and businesses!  The light contest is open to all residences in Sullivan. We want to encourage all residents to brighten up their neighborhoods and their community, to make this the brightest Christmas ever.

Categories for Residential

·        The Clark Griswold Award Most outrageous use of lights, sound and motion $50 Gift Card

·        Best Theme Display Overall best theme and design $50 Gift Card

·        People’s Choice Award $50 Gift Card

Categories for Business

Rules:

No fee for entry into the contest.

Entries must be submitted to the Sullivan County Chamber of Commerce Facebook Page. Provide a photo of the lit display including Name, Address, and Category to be entered

All Entries must be received by Tue Dec 12th

Only decorations visible from the roadway will be subject to judging

*Please note window painting on business windows may complement BUT NOT be considered in the judging

Judging:

Judging will take place on Friday, December 15th and Saturday December 16th. It is suggested that lights be kept on from 6 pm to 10 pm on judging nights. All judging will be completed no later than 10:00 pm on December 16. Participants should ensure that all lights, animations and decorations are in place and activated for the judging periods on both nights.

Winners will be announced on Monday, December 18th.

Contest is for exterior decorations only, including decorations in windows that are visible from the exterior.

Judging will be done from outside the residence and business only.

Judging will be based on “curb appeal” as viewed from the street only, therefore only those decorations located on the street side of the property will be judged (corner lots will be judged from both streets). Judges will not enter the property to view back or side yards. Participants agree to have one or more photos of their decorated residence exterior posted on The Sullivan County Chamber of Commerce and Heart of Sullivan Facebook Page. Participant agrees there will be no compensation of any kind for said posting or publication. People’s Choice Award will be voted on by the public. Beginning on Dec 13th, you can vote on the Sullivan County Chamber of Commerce Page for your favorite display. A “like” will count as one vote.

Voting for the People’s Choice Award will end at midnight on Dec 17th.
