Whether you're a long-time member of Local 849, new to this jurisdiction, or just starting in this industry, this email is for you! Basic Info

  • Tier 2 Series - broadcast on Crave (& others)
  • 75 shooting days (August 7 - November 28)
  • Hiatus: September 19 - October 2

Variance Summary

Here is a list of some of the items that most affect the crew. Please consult the full letter of variance in the collective agreement for department-specific items. For reference, the article number is in brackets.

  • Additional Workweek shifts if necessary, the Production may utilize two additional workweek shifts (12.6)
  • Night Premiums are waived (13.9)
  • The first meal penalty can be waived for 42-minute pre-calls if breakfast is offered and 18 minutes is paid to consume it (14.21 - 14.23 - there is no existing language in the standard)
  • The production is allowed six (6) shortened weekends of 48+6 (54) hours. The regular weekend turnaround is 56 hours. (15.2)
  • You'll receive a Producer contribution of 6% to your RSP
  • The studio location at 68/70 Hwy 1, Mount Uniacke, is included in the Home Zone. (19.1 (g))

We're looking for two on-set reps for this upcoming season. Crew reps are typically the first point of contact for crew questions or concerns. No experience is required. Our Executive Board members Adam and Olivia are here to assist and support you in this role. An honorarium of $35/week will be paid by the union at the end of the show.
