Volunteer Opportunities
The Enhanced Services Project
Through the Enhanced Services Project, our volunteer attorneys follow up with clients with whom we recently worked, to see if further advice is needed. In our Cobb office, the majority of these follow-up cases are focused on preventing evictions. Using this model, our volunteer lawyers found that 70% of the time, clients were able to avoid eviction by securing housing for at least 30 days. The advice of our volunteers helps our clients find stability and reduces chronic homelessness in Cobb and other metro Atlanta counties.

2019 Summer Associate Pro Bono Certificate Series
Our Summer Associate Pro Bono Series will prepare you to take cases and equip you to make a difference in the community. The series will consist of 3 CLE trainings perfectly suited for attorneys seeking limited scope pro bono opportunities: Estate Planning for Low Income Clients, Representing Clients at Protective Order Hearings, and Diversity and Inclusion in the Law. At the end of each training, you will be able to competently provide legal representation to pro bono clients. You will also receive a Pro Bono Certificate from Legal Aid to add to your resume.

Registration is free for current Legal Aid volunteers who have taken three or more cases; otherwise, the cost is $25. Please note that you must attend two sessions and our Beer Tasting & BBQ Battle or our Women's Pop Up Legal Clinic event to qualify for the Pro Bono Certificate.
