Atlanta Legal Aid Society's Pro Bono Awards Breakfast
Save the date for the 3rd annual Pro Bono Awards Breakfast on October 22nd recognizing 2019 award recipients and pro bono all stars. Each year we recognize some of our spectacular volunteers who have been dedicated to serving our clients. Formal invitations will follow with in the next month.
Back to School CLE
Join us on September 18th for a training focused on special education law, disciplinary protections for students, and advocacy skills you’ll need for the coming school year. Learn more about new FAPE legal standards and how to help all students achieve excellence in their education. There will be an opportunity to put the skills you learn into practice at a mock IEP workshop. Attorneys, advocates, individuals with disabilities, and parents are welcome to attend. We will be offering Communication Access Real-time Translation (CART) services for participants. Attorneys will receive 4 hours of CLE credit.
Volunteer Opportunities
Fulton Family Law Information Center Monthly Clinic
Volunteer attorneys are needed to assist clients at our monthly family law information clinic. Group clinics are on the last Friday of every month from 9:00-12:00 in courtroom 8H of the Fulton County courthouse. Email Whitney Stone at wstone@atlantalegalaid.org if you're interested in volunteering

Bankruptcy Clinic
Atlanta Legal Aid is proud to partner with the United States Bankruptcy Court and Georgia State University College of Law to provide assistance to pro se bankruptcy litigants on a monthly basis. Clients are not represented but involved in or will soon be involved in bankruptcy proceedings pending in federal court. Attorneys and law students are needed to screen and advise clients.
