State of the South Conference
February 8th, 2019
On Friday, Feb. 8 from 8:30am to 4:00pm, the Center for Access to Justice will host its second annual State of the South conference which brings together scholars and practitioners from across the Southeast to discuss a timely topic in access to justice.

This year’s focus is on the relevance of technology for low-income people interacting with the justice system in the South. We plan to explore the innovative ways in which practitioners are making use of technology to close the justice gap, and the obstacles that stand in the way of fully developing and deploying the resources that might make the biggest impact.

We hope you will also join us for the opening reception Thursday, Feb. 7 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the College of Law.

When
  • Reception: Thurs., Feb. 7 from 6:00pm – 8:00pm
  • Conference: Fri., Feb. 8 from 8:30am – 4:00pm
Where
  • Reception: Catherine Henson Atrium
  • Conference: Knowles Conference Center, Lower Level

Lunch provided to registered attendees

Attorneys will have the opportunity to earn 5 hours of general CLE credit in Georgia.
Adopt-A-Family 2018
Each year at Legal Aid, attorneys nominate families who could use some extra help for the holidays. Sponsors choose a family and buy gifts for each member. Sponsors can be firms, community groups or individuals.

We recommend spending $100 per child and $50 per an adult. Due to the limited transportation capabilities of many of our clients, we ask that you deliver the gifts. Last year our sponsors supported nearly 50 families and well over 100 children for the holidays.

If you or your law firm/company would like to adopt a family this year, please go to the link below for a sign up genius.

Thank you again for supporting our Legal Aid families!!
