Volunteer Opportunities
Transgender Name Change Project
Looking for a simple way to make a difference in the lives of our clients? We need volunteers for the Transgender Name Change Project. We have had over 300 new inquiries for representation and we need attorneys & law students to help us with these cases, especially for those outside of Metro Atlanta. We need volunteers willing to take cases and attend a clinic to assist clients inside and outside of Metro Atlanta. The process is very straightforward! Interested in volunteering? The Enhanced Services Project
Want to support our work, but prefer limited scope or brief service opportunities? Join our ESP team and make follow up calls to clients who have already received advice to see if they were successful. As a benefit, you can attend two upcoming free classes on social security overpayments on August 22 at 11 am, and the use of forensic accountants in litigation on August 28 at 11 am. We offer our in house volunteers free regular CLE classes on housing, public benefits, family law, and consumer issues. Email Laurie Rashidi-Yazd at [email protected] if you're interested in volunteering.
This year we had 6 fantastic events included in our Summer Associate Pro Bono Series: The 7th Annual Beer Tasting & BBQ Battle, Grace UMC Women's Legal Pop-up Clinic, The Pro Bono Roadshow Professionalism, Estate Planning for Low Income Clients, Representing Clients at Protective Order Hearings, and Diversity & Inclusion in the Law.

A special thank you to the firms who hosted these events including: Taylor English Duma, Arnall Golden Gregory, Baker Hostetler, and Alston & Bird. We appreciate everyone who made these events possible.
