CANADA EMERGENCY WAGE SUBSIDY (CEWS) The application window will open on Monday, April 27 at 6:00 am .  Before applying, you should have already calculated the estimated subsidy. The federal government has created an online calculator to help businesses determine what the CEWS will cover and to simplify the application process.  Businesses that go through the process of using the calculator will be able to print out the resulting information and use the printout to help expedite the online application process. The calculator is on the CRA’s CEWS information page, at the section entitled “ Calculate Your Subsidy Amount ”.   The CRA’s CEWS information page also provides additional information for applicants about which employers are eligible and how they should count eligible employees. More information is available on the municipal website at petawawa.ca/business ONTARIO - CANADA EMERGENCY COMMERCIAL RENT ASSISTANCE (OCERCA) This NEW program was announced on April 16, 2020 by the Prime Minister but has not yet been enacted. The Ontario Canada Emergency Commercial Rent Assistance (OCECRA) program will seek to provide loans, including forgivable loans, to commercial property owners who in turn will lower or forgo the rent of small businesses for the months of April (retroactive), May, and June. Updated April 24th The government says the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation will administer the program, which is set to be “operational” by mid-May. The intention is to have commercial property owners lower rents for their tenants now and be paid retroactively for April and May. RELIEF LOAN through RENFREW COUNTY COMMUNITY FUTURES DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION (RCCFDC)

RCCFDC is offering a Special Loan (identified as “Relief Loan”) at the Prime Rate to both existing and new clients and if approved will receive funding within 3 business days of receiving an application. The loan is to assist with working capital or other verified expenses you expect to have an economic impact on your business due to COVID -19. CANADA EMERGENCY BUSINESS ACCOUNT (CEBA) - UP TO $40,000 LINE OF CREDIT Eligible businesses may borrow up to $40,000 through the federally funded CEBA mechanism.  The CEBA is a revolving line of credit made available to eligible businesses through an online application process. The banking institutions will be the administrators of the funds when the online application portal opens. NEW: To be eligible for this fund: Businesses which paid an annual payroll of $20,000 to $1,500,000 in 2019.   The funds are intended to cover non-deferrable costs such as payroll, rent, insurance, and utilities. For more details please review information on petawawa.ca/business SMALL & MEDIUM-SIZED ENTERPRISE (SME) LOAN & GUARANTEE PROGRAM - UP TO $6,250,000 LOAN PER SME These are the business loan facilities which will be backstopped by EDC and BDC.   More details of the sub-streams of this program are coming online daily through the Government of Canada, EDC, and BDC websites, as well as publications from the major banks referencing the SME Loan & Guarantee Program. Support our Businesses 2020 Social Media Campaign A five week social media campaign to recognize and support our area businesses. Service Concierge - Digital Media Virtual Workshops The partnership group has offered the Service Concierge - Digital Media workshops in a virtual format. Sessions are being conducted through Zoom by Paperback Events. As demand warrants we will add additional virtual workshops. The Ontario Highlands Tourism Association (OHTO) is sharing information with our tourism operators. OHTO is working on creating virtual opportunities to showcase and promote your business as well as connecting and advocating for industry supports with various levels of government. They have a survey they would like tourism operators to complete in order to continue to provide them with valuable information as they continue their efforts to support tourism post COVID-19.
