• Two more Forrest County COVID-19 patients were announced, bringing the total case number in Mississippi to 3.
• Dr. Thomas Dobbs said the "vast majority" of respiratory illnesses will not be COVID-19. "Everyone who sneezes does not need COVID testing." He also urged, "Don't test people who don't have symptoms."
• COVID-19 testing with Health Department: Swabs alone are not sufficient, they must be transported in the viral media transport tubes.  
• Clinics should contact local hospital labs and/or Labcorp for media and swabs. The Health Dept. cannot supply everyone and needs to shift focus from clinical/diagnosis to surveillance.
• With increased volumes of testing expected, clinics should start using Labcorp and other private labs as they become available. Even though it may take longer at present, as MSDH demand kicks in, they will get slower and testing at MSDH will take the same amount of time as Labcorp.
• When seeing a febrile patient with respiratory illness the patient should have on a surgical mask, those providing care should wear a surgical mask, eye protection/face protection(if available), gloves, +/- disposable gown.  Taking these measures from the beginning will prevent a quarantine of the health care employee.
• MSDH does not recommend wearing long sleeve lab coats.  
• Frequent hand washing/gel use esp. after removing PPE.  
• Keep acutely ill patients segregated from in-clinic patients who are not ill. Perhaps designate a room or even use the patient's car if necessary.
• Outpatient clinics need to delay non-acute visits and consider cancelling elective procedures in hospitals to preserve hospital capacity. Help them with their chronic med refills and push visits out if possible. Consider telemedicine visits for them if available. 
• In response to a question about drive-through testing such as is being done in other states, Dr. Dobbs said that many would go for testing without symptoms which would "overwhelm the state's testing infrastructures."
