Poser YOGA Newsletter

Dear Yogi Friends!! Here's your HELLO from Poser!!

Wow! The weather is looking to be beautiful this weekend! And the question is, when do we make time to get our Yoga practice in when it's so gorgeous outside? Well, we all know how great we feel after class, and sometimes it requires us to make a  choice . It's all about balance, isn't it? Luckily for you, we're open this Saturday and Sunday, for regular classes, and you're sure to get a good dose of you time!

Please Note:
***We will be CLOSED this MONDAY.***

This weekend we're pleased to be offering some free-to-the-public Yoga classes at the JFFA music festival! Please scroll down for more information. It would be great to see you on the grass with us!

We have an awesome workshop planned with the amazing Brooke Cole, happening on Saturday, June 10th! The early bird price ends tomorrow (May 27) and the workshop is nearly sold out, so if you have plans on attending, we have a link to our online store a little lower down.

International Yoga Day falls on a Wednesday this year, June 21 and we're planning for an awesome event at the City Pier!! You're not going to want to miss out on this, so make sure you scroll further!

There is a Handstand workshop in the works, coming to you July 1st! Wendy and Karlyn are upside-down with joy to share with you some tricks they've collected along their Yogi paths! If this sounds like a good time to you, make sure you save the date, and we'll have more information for you soon!!

We've started a tradition with the Adult Hip Hop class. For the past few years, we've danced in the 4th of July Parade, and we're planning to do it again this summer! For the month of June, we'll be rehearsing our routine. It's a lot of fun and if you're even slightly thinking about it... come on and join us!
Our classes are Wednesday nights at 7PM.

We're bringing back our Pop-Up Yoga classes and have included a few new locations! We'll be back at the B+B Family Farm amidst the blooming lavender, several parks around town, a few coffee shops, a hike/yoga combo, and we're very excited to include GOAT Yoga!! What's this, you ask?
Please stay tuned for more information (dates/times/locations/etc) as we collect details!

There's always so much going on at the studio, and every time you come to class, you'll likely notice that something has been added, taken away, and/or moved around! We're still getting comfortable in our new digs, and I imagine these shifts will be happening for quite some time! We're days away from launching our  Pro-Shop/Boutique, where you can purchase Poser YOGA and CageworX apparel, gear, props and other items. Also, we're getting very close to setting regular hours of operation, which means we'll be opening up our workout space for our members to make use of. Coming in the fall... monthly auto-pay options as well as a few new class options, events, and workshops!

Before I wrap this up, I want to acknowledge our entire community at Poser YOGA. Our committed students, our dedicated and talented teachers and staff, our generous Karma yogis, our family next-door at CageworX... all of us come together, everyday, to create something very special in Port Angeles. I don't think a place like ours exists anywhere else, and I'm so thankful to be a part of this evolution!!

Until next time,

From Jenny and the Whole Poser Crew

Thoughts, On and Off the Mat
by Tracy Fitzwater

You know it’s going to be an interesting yoga practice when you walk into the studio, and the word “inversion” is mentioned, as in “By the way, we’re going to be doing inversions today.” Gulp.

I had stepped out of my comfort zone and decided to try a noon power class. Normally, I’m in the fitness kickboxing class on the CageworX side during that time. No big deal, I thought. I figured I could do a fifty minute practice, knowing that the possibility of having some move come up that would be challenging was inevitable. I mean, I’ve spent at least two years avoiding power classes, mostly because of the idea of power! So, when Jenny mentioned inversions, I didn’t run away. It wasn’t exactly a “bring it on” moment, but I proceeded into the studio anyway.

Regarding multi-class passes:
If you purchase a multi-class pass, you enter into a student/studio agreement; a cheaper rate per class, with the expectation that you'll use the pass within a certain duration. Please take into consideration the length of time you have to use each specific pass and whether that suits your lifestyle. We all know that a regular Yoga practice is  ideal, and if you can make the commitment to  yourself, then by all means, commit to a multi-class pass. Whichever pass you choose, please take note of your expiration dates, and enjoy getting your Yoga ON!!
For more info, visit our webpage on  Pass Extensions

Regarding class etiquette:
Please arrive 5-10 minutes early for class. Allow for time to check in and make payments, if necessary. Class starts promptly, and ends promptly too! Let's all respect each other's time and things will move smoothly!  when you arrive, make sure  you and confirms you're checked in!
One other thing to mention: We urge you to be aware of the scents you are bringing into the studio with you. Strong body odours and fragrances can be very overpowering, especially since mindful breathing is such an important aspect of our Yoga practices. Err on the side of plain, simple hygiene and save your  shpritzing for after class.
