SUMMER 2016

MCCF announces 2016 grant awards

In June, the Medina County Community Fund awarded 11 grants totaling $25,750 to nonprofit organizations that improve the lives of Medina County residents. The majority of the amount awarded went to programs that help meet residents' basic needs, including transportation, clothing, food and health care. Other grants will support free music concerts, provide toys for kids with disabilities, and more.

Strategic plan targets growth, outreach

Over the last several months, current and former board members of the Medina County Community Fund have gathered to discuss a strategic plan for growing the endowment and increasing its impact on Medina County. Priorities include raising awareness of the fund, cultivating board members, and building relationships with professional advisors in the community.

Grant gives kids new socks, underwear

As children get ready to head back to school, many local families are feeling burdened by the expense of new clothing. Thanks to a recent grant to Marian's Closet, families in need will receive new pairs of socks and underwear, just in time for school. These much-needed clothing items will improve children's self-image while lifting a weight from their parents' shoulders.

Celebrating Spring into Summer

On Thursday, June 16, the Medina County Community Fund welcomed friends, supporters and grantees at Fox Meadow Country Club for its annual Spring into Summer event. There, fund officials presented grant awards to 11 local nonprofit agencies and celebrated another successful year of building permanent philanthropy in Medina County.
