"Lumberjacks in Love" is Back with a Twist
Lumberjacks in Love, with book and lyrics by Fred Alley and music by James Kaplan, makes a return, but with a twist. Our most beloved show, by our most popular writing team, will play one night a week, but this time around the audience is invited to sing along.
Lumberjacks in Love includes a costume contest about 15 minutes before the show. It's your chance to dress up and be on stage with our cast...don't miss out!

2018 Creative Kids Workshops
Creative Kids theater workshops sessions take place on and a round the Northern Sky stage in Peninsula State Park and are led by Northern Sky company members.
Friday, July 13th
9:30 am - 12:00 pm or 1:00 pm - 3:30 pm
We'll be playing games, making music, singing, dancing, and acting-with all activities using material from the musical Boxcar. At the end of each session, we'll do a short presentation for family and friends. Participants will also get a backstage tour of the theater and an opportunity to meet this year's company members. Molly Rhode will be leading the workshop and you'll have a ton of fun.
Northern Sky will also be joined by special guests from the National Railroad Museum who will help you discover the secrets of hobo life. Participants will learn about hobo road names; explore who the hobos were; and talk in the hobo language.
For children ages 6-16. Fee is $30 per child

New Coloring Book Set to Release July 4th
The pictures in the new coloring book, Color the Northern Sky, include 11 of the theater company's best-loved shows illustrated by Maggie Godfrey from photos of scenes chosen as most likely to stir memories for audiences through the years. They range from
Belgians in Heaven
(1994)
to When Butter Churns to Gold
(2015), a representation of the more than 50 original shows Northern Sky has presented since 1990.
The 52-page collectible book is compiled by Chase Stoeger and includes a synopsis of each of the shows pictured, the original cast lists, a two-page spread of the path theatergoers travel through the woods to reach the theater under the stars and an introductory poem by Molly Rhode. Some of the pages are laid out so two people can color at the same time.
