Greetings,
We hope you enjoyed (or will enjoy) the Volunteer Celebrations. Each year as we review your accomplishments so that we can honor them, we are astounded by what you have made possible and this year was no exception.
You may have noticed that our website www.rsvpmc.org looks different. We are in the process of updating our site to make it easier to use and more interactive. We hope you will agree and we thank you for your patience as we are in the process.
On July 23
we will hold our 2nd Annual Golf Classic at Rivercrest Golf Club & Preserve in Phoenixville (see below for details).
If you were able to join us last year, you know it was a wonderful day of golfing, an evening dinner with cocktails and a silent auction. This fun event supports 5,250 children who benefit from participation in our programs. We hope you can join us this year as a golfer or simply to attend the dinner and auction. Bring a friend! For more information visit
https://www.rsvp-golf.com/.
I hope to see you at one of our events. Have a safe and fun summer!
With gratitude,
Michele Moll

Getting to Know Us
|
Meet Tony Giunta
Tony is our Director of Operations. He started his second career with RSVP in July 2009. Before RSVP, Tony spent 30 years with General Motors' Assembly Division in Wilmington, DE. His specialty at GM (and here) is training and workplace organization.
Not particularly good at enjoying idle time, Tony wanted to do meaningful good works in the community after retirement. He knew Michele through their church and she had recently assumed the Executive Director position and needed additional staffing and support with office management.
He lives in Media, is a dedicated husband, father and grandfather of two grandsons who are full of life "and rhythm too".
Tony does an amazing job making sure we all have all the tools we need to work efficiently

What are You Doing this Summer?
With school ending soon some of our volunteers may find they have more time on their hands. Keep in mind that we always need volunteers to deliver meals, provide transportation to medical appointments, secure groceries, organize paperwork, and advocate for seniors. You determine when you are available and we'll find you a grateful senior.

Are you at risk for fracture?
Bone density testing is one of the many preventive benefits offered through Medicare. Statistics show that one in two women over the age of 50 will develop osteoporosis. A bone density test can help you detect osteoporosis at an early stage so that a treatment plan can be developed.
Medicare Part B covers a bone mass measurement test once every 24 months (more if medically necessary) if you meet one or more of these conditions:
- You are a woman whose doctor has determined you are estrogen deficient and at risk for osteoporosis, based on your medical history and other findings.
- Your x-rays show possible osteoporosis, osteopenia, or vertebral fractures.
- You're taking prednisone or steroid-type drugs or are planning to begin this treatment.
- You have been diagnosed with primary hyperparathyroidism.
- You're being monitored to see if your osteoporosis drug therapy is working.
There is no cost for this test if the doctor or other qualified health care provider accepts assignment.
APPRISE counselors are are state trained volunteers who can answer your questions about Medicare and provide you with objective, easy to understand information about Medicare, Medicaid, Supplemental plans and Advantage plans and Drug plans. To learn more visit: www.rsvpmc.org
