Dear GLCEDC Members and Friends:

Summer is off to an eventful start at the GLCEDC. Over the last couple of months, the GLCEDC approved a $45,000 Economic Incentive Grant to Alloy Specialties in Blackstone. Also, the GLCEDC approved an $8,000 Community Enhancement and Economic Stimulus Grant for a joint program between Woodland High School and Streator High School to offer the Midland Institute for Entrepreneurship's program CEO (Creating Entrepreneurial Opportunities).

Lastly, the GLCEDC Golf Outing will be on August 1, 2019. See details below to sign up or to become a sponsor.

Alloy Specialties Economic Incentive Grant

The GLCEDC approved a $45,000 Economic Incentive Grant to Alloy Specialties, located in Blackstone, IL. Alloy will hire 10 new employees and will use the funds for building improvements and to purchase equipment. To qualify for this incentive, Alloy Specialties must provide a wage and benefit package of $29,201 annually and retain the hired employees for a minimum of one year after the positions are created .

Woodland High School / Streator High School CEO Program Grant

The GLCEDC approved a joint $8,000 Community Enhancement and Economic Stimulus Grant to Woodland High School and Streator High School for the Midland Institute for Entrepreneurship's program CEO (Creating Entrepreneurial Opportunities). The CEO program recruits community mentors that work with students to help facilitate student learning while allowing students to make connections with various community and business leaders in the process.

Before the program starts next fall, the schools need to collect donations from local businesses and set up speakers and mentors for the class. If your business would like to participate in this program, please click the link below.

10th Annual GLCEDC Golf Outing

The GLCEDC will host its 10th Annual Golf Outing on Thursday, August 1, 2019 at the Pontiac Elks Club. The GLCEDC Golf Outing is an excellent opportunity to reconnect with existing friends and to meet new people.

Pontiac Splash Pad Grand Opening

Pontiac Parks and Recreation had a grand opening at the Humiston-Riverside Splash Park on May 25, 2019. Families gathered and enjoyed food, refreshments, games, and sunshine. The splash pad is free to the public and includes:

4,300 square feet with colored sand finish concrete for better traction
15 above-ground water features
19 in-ground water features
2 15' x 15' shade structures

The GLCEDC and recipients of our grants recognize and greatly appreciate the sustained, generous support of Livingston County.
