The International Association of Better Business Bureaus released an updated issue of Better Business Briefing this month, which provides more information on how businesses across North America are feeling the effects of COVID-19 (coronavirus).

This new data collected from BBB.org shows that the surge in COVID-19 related consumer reviews and complaints observed in March has continued to increase through May.

According to the data - which you can view by clicking here or on the image accompanying this article - complaints and reviews related to the COVID-19 pandemic made up 12.4% of all complaints and reviews submitted to BBB from March through the end of May this year. Of the nearly 54,000 such complaints and reviews filed between March and May 2020, 3,819 were filed against businesses in the New York / New Jersey region. Many of the complaints and reviews concerned travel, events, and ecommerce transactions.
